"The course is extremely well organized and a safe space to both learn and grow. There is room to share, integrate, and ask questions about your own practices and experiences without feeling judged. I personally feel it's critical information for anyone who works with bodies and teaches a strong foundation for learning how to interact with ALL people in a way that is conscious and respectful of their individuality and experiences as a human being." - TIWL Graduate

- How personal biases and perspectives may support or hinder your client’s process
- How to start the process of positioning yourself as a safe and effective part of your client’s healing journey

A NOTE ABOUT LEARNING VERSUS HEALING
This program is for professional development and learning. We recognize that although many of us may have experiences of trauma, the time we spend together will not be an intervention for our own individual healing. Talking and learning about trauma, even in the context of a training, can be triggering.

"What has been most influential is the knowledge that there are people in the world who believe, as I do, in the importance of the fitness industry reshaping and being held accountable for how they ensure they do no harm and do good." - TIWL Graduate

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Scholarship
We offer a limited number of full and partial scholarships as part of our diversity, equity, and inclusion initiative. The purpose of scholarships is to expand the reach of the TIWL program and to address health disparities by engaging professionals who will commit to providing TIWL services to a range of historically marginalized communities, including those contemporarily impacted by oppression-related traumatic stress.
As a program, we respect the data that shows individuals seeking care tend to be best served by providers who come from the same or similar communities, or cultural milieu, especially when considering marginalization or people who have experienced system discrimination. We take this into consideration in our decision-making process for these scholarships.
